The DELF and DALF diplomas are awarded by the French Education Ministry as certificates of French language ability for non-native speakers. Both exams may be taken in official examination centres in France and some 150 countries worldwide.
Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française: DELF
DELF 1st level:
The first level DELF certificate is an accreditation of French language ability (written, speaking and listening). It is organised into 4 unit credits:
Each unit corresponds to around 100 hours' teaching.
DELF 2nd level:
The second level DELF certificate includes two unit credits:
