FAQ

There are several reasons why you should take a TEFL course in Rome:

  • We offer a wide range of high quality TEFL courses;
  • We offer a comprehensive range of services, from helping you choose the right course for you, to support throughout your teaching career;
  • You will gain an international certificate, accepted worldwide;
  • We will offer you exceptional interviews with school directors;
  • Rome will be a teaching and professional experience, as well as a culturally enriching adventure.

The standard TEFL course is a 4 weeks intensive program in which you will gain the basic notions of teaching English as a foreign language.

In addition to the TEFL certificate you have the chance to participate in one of our Special Teaching Programs (these are complementary courses to be taken upon completion of the standard or combined TEFL course).

Choose between:

  • Teaching for International Exams
  • Teaching grammar
  • Teaching one-to-one

Our Combined Course, offered through out TITC Corporation, brings together the best of the online and onsite programs. You will study the principles and theories online at your own pace and then you will come to our centre (for two weeks) to embark on your teaching practice experience.

No you do not. Our TEFL centre uses the international standard communicative approach to teaching, where English is the only language used in the classroom.

Whilst there is no official upper age limit, you must be at least 18 years of age for your application to be considered. We have successfully trained (and found employment for) graduates of all ages.

There is really no best or worst time. Jobs are available year round with academic terms varying from continent to continent. The Italian, and especially roman, teaching market is a particularly active one through the whole year.

In order to take one of our courses each application is judged upon its own merit. As far as entrance requirements are concerned, if you are to be a teacher of English, a high standard of both spoken and written English is necessary. By this it is meant your use of English, not necessarily your knowledge of grammatical terminology, you will learn this on the course itself. Providing you are receptive to learning you should have no problems.

Pretty much anywhere in the world where English isn’t the native language (and even some where it is!). The job market in Italy is currently good. You should have no trouble finding a job after taking the TEFL course, if you are diligent and “put yourself out there.” The market is generally good year-round, except for late summer (August), since almost everyone in the country goes on vacation and there are no students to be taught.

On average we have about twenty students enrolled in each program, most of whom are American or British, but we have also students from Australia, New Zeeland, South Africa, and the European Union.

Their ages range anywhere from 20 to 60 years old, although the majority of our students are 22 – 30 years old.
